Toilet tanks can accumulate impurities over time. Here are some methods to clean a toilet tank with a significant amount of impurities.
How to Clean a Toilet Tank with Lots of Impurities:
Start by pouring some vinegar into the tank. Vinegar not only helps eliminate bacteria but also softens the limescale on the inner walls, making it easier to clean. Next, add some dish soap and use a soft cloth to wipe down the inner walls, which will effectively remove impurities and wash them out when you flush. Finally, add a toilet bowl cleaner to prevent future buildup of impurities in the tank.
How to Thoroughly Clean the Toilet:
1、Inner Walls
Firstly, close the toilet lid and press the flush button to rinse the inner walls with clean water. Then, add a toilet cleaner around the inner walls and let it sit for a while to soak. After that, you can easily clean the inner walls with a toilet brush. If there are still stains, you can pour some white vinegar in to soften the dirt. When cleaning the inner walls, it’s best to lift the toilet seat to avoid missing the rim where water stains may accumulate.
2、Toilet Seat
The toilet seat is in direct contact with the human body and is often overlooked during cleaning. It can easily accumulate dust and may be splashed with water, leading to the growth of bacteria. Therefore, it should be specifically cleaned and disinfected every week.
3、Outer Walls
The outer walls of the toilet can be cleaned with disinfectant and detergent. Since the outer surface is usually ceramic, it is strong and not easily damaged by these cleaning agents, making them effective for cleaning. However, remember to wear gloves during cleaning to protect your skin.
4、Toilet Brush
While the toilet brush is a cleaning tool, if not cleaned properly after use, it can become a source of indoor contamination, especially in humid conditions, where bacteria can easily breed. Make sure to regularly clean it with disinfectant and store it in a suspended position to keep it dry.
